Electro Desiccation - Giving Hope to People with Neurofibromatosis

Recently my NF bumps started getting worse and after many years of pretty much no growth, this caused me to panic. I started researching surgical methods for having them removed and came across a technique called electro-desiccation. You can find very detailed information about electro desiccation here. This is where I originally read about it. Make sure you have your speakers unmuted when you visit this link, because there is a speech of the doctor speaking about electro desiccation at an annual NF conference. Unfortunately, this guy is in New York and I don't think he's accepted by most insurance, so I went on a quest to find a plastic surgeon in Florida that could perform this procedure.

Luckily, I was able to find a very highly qualified plastic surgeon at a local clinic named The Watson Clinic. I went in about 2 months ago to have this procedure performed and I've very pleased with the results. My insurance only covered a small amount of bumps to be removed, so I'm saving for another visit so I can have them all removed.

When you have NF, there are very few things that give you hope and since it doesn't seem the researchers are going to make any progress any time soon, this gives those of us with Neurofibromatosis some hope. The doctor I found is named Dr. Kazmier and she's in Lakeland Florida. You can find lots of information about her on that page.

She does take insurance, so that's definitely a big advantage. If you're in need of health insurance so you can get a procedure like this performed, I highly recommend this site for finding health insurance with neurofibromatosis, I used it to get health insurance quotes when I was shopping around for my current health insurance policy.
